Sacred Places
When I feel the sacred inside I say thank you. I wrote this a few weeks ago and decided that it is a good jumping off point for today’s blog.
I made a promise to a sacred spot on Stone Mountain. I brought a little of their sand and a few very small rocks to Peru last March-April with the agreement that I would return them when the journey was complete. I also brought two very small pebbles from Peru (with permission) to place along side them..
Today was the day, six months later and I have returned to the place that was ceremonial and sacred before I, small being, ever lay eyes on. On the way I saw a few tiny bits of human left trash and told the path that I would pick them up on the way back.
I arrived and placed the sand and rocks then came to sit in a familiar spot where I have placed many prayers, laid intentions, and asked my Self for guidance.
The feelings of earth and self are, of course, not just available in certain spots. Sometimes it is nice to be in times/places that are dedicated to remembering.
Someone had painted their initials in the very spot, they didn’t know. I tried to scrub it off with a rock and it looked like it was working until I poured a little bit of my precious water and the initials are still starkly visible. What can I do? I have some ideas but now I am going to sit in this spot and feel.
May I continue to grow in my understanding and appreciation. May i be gently and generously shown how i can be more aligned. May I share with at least one other human the preciousness we are and have been given, in ourselves and in our existence. As my teacher, Prem Rawat, reminded me day before yesterday, be the lit candle that can light other candles.
