The Woman
The woman sank into her simpler self
All that she had been
Pooled at her feet
She stood for a moment
Wondering what clothes were in her future
What people
What ideas and problems and joys
All along knowing that she was new
Blessing all that was
Stepping lightly out from the pile at her feet
Her simpler self cleared and ready
The woman picks up the pile
As if setting example for witnesses
She walks to the fire that she and her friends prepared
She places the bundle in the flames saying, Blessed be, blessed be, blessed be
She sits on a rock near the fire
Warming herself and waiting for what is needed
As ready as can be
Feeling the vibrance of her readiness
A little bit of fear licking her toes
As the world shakes
And she looks in the fire for a moment
And sees what must be
She sees it in the fire that she and her sisters have tended
And in this she settles
And watches as others place their bundles in the fire
We are in the between (2025-2026)
What are you finished with and how are you celebrating the new?
With love,
